Just so you know, the lid is plastic but the rest is coated metal. Worked great, held an average sized zucchini and my chickens weren't afraid to eat from it. Only wish it had a clip that allows you to hang it from your hardware cloth. It's easier for the girls to eat from it if it could be against something. I recommend!Perfect it keeps the food/treats off the floor the chickens just peck at it and eat from there. It’s great for slices of apples, cabbage and lettuce. Small carrots fall out, so we’ve been buying the long carrots which works well. It also fits a corn on the cob. Much easier than other options. Its a bit light. You can't just put lettuce in and hang it. When the chickens go to bite and pull the whole thing swings and they don't get anything then start to ignore it.This product is okay. It would have been nice to be a bit sturdier and better made for the price. I would recommend looking around at local feed store before buying this. This is awesome. It holds all kinds of fruit and vegetables. My chickens had avocado in it! It’s super easy to load and clean. It keeps their food up off the ground and that makes less waste. I highly recommend this treat feeder. This is too small for things one would offer to chickens. Except maybe berries, which would fall through.I have 10 chickens, weighted around 5 pounds each. This product does not fit for sure. It is tiny, weak and very cheap. It could be easily smashed by them. You might use it for birds, but definitely not for chicken. I returned.BTW - the price is way to high. I would price it $1.99, or $2.99 the max.
