Description
The Baja Shirt's crepe feel and sun-bleached colors might make you believe you're on the deck of a boat floating in turquoise-blue ocean water, peering out from underneath a straw hat hoping to get a bonefish strike-but you can wear it anywhere you need UPF 50+ sun protection and a breathable shirt to keep you cool in hot weather.

Great shirt. As expected form Outdoor Research, the construction is sturdy, the materials excellent, and it's designed for function with a bit of style.I have owned and enjoyed the Outdoor research Wayward long sleeve shirts, and the Baha is similar in style but optimized for hot weather (exactly what I was looking for). The material is lighter and more breathable, and vents are hidden along the stitching of the shoulders and upper back (I can poke a finger through each vent, but wouldn't realize they were there just by looking at it as they lay flat). The fabric also has better wicking ability than the wayward (tested by dropping water on both fabric types to see which is absorbed/wicked more quickly) I compared "breathability" by forcing air through the fabric of the Wayward material, then the Baja. The Baja showed markedly lower resistance, demonstrating greater breathability. The stretchiness of the fabric is mild, but enough to appreciate it. The fit is true to size for Large, but just slightly smaller in some ways than the comparable Wayward shirt. At 6'2'' 185 lbs average build, the Large fits well. However, when the sleeves are rolled up, it's only just big enough for my bicep (which is not particularly big). Guys with very big arms may not be able to comfortably roll up the sleeves without buying a bigger size. My arms are on the long side even for my height (size 36-37 in dress shirts), and the sleeve length of the Large is sufficient (but probably closer to a 35 in dress shirt sleeve length, which would be typical for a large).Other features: The right breast pocket is zip closed to keep items secure. There is a hidden snap fastener on the underside of the collar that allows you to fasten the collar in the "up" position to help protect your neck from the sun (Fabric is UPF 50+). Sleeves have roll tabs hidden inside to secure them in the rolled up position and prevent them falling back down. The material is subtly textured to give a slightly more natural look. This is my new standard day to day casual shirt for warm weather. Will update if any problems develop, but doubt they will. Can't say enough good things about this shirt. The fit is perfect and the material and build quality top-notch. Perfect for a day under the hot sun and anywhere you need a quick dry long sleeve. I tested this last weekend kayaking and it was both flexible and cool. I have both the vintage (blue) and Mojave (red) colors and they appear much more muted in real life. The blue is def darker and the red not as glowing. Can't beat this sun-shirt, especially in topical environments!Nice shirt. LessBright than photos but it runs tighter that same model of shirts but in different colorsI love outdoor research clothing, but I've only owned this shirt for a month and a half and there is already a pilled shrunken patch on the back. So, i can't wear my camel back when I'm hiking without ruining one of my favorite shirts? That's garbage, i sure hope it was something my dryer did by chance and not something to look forward to with all my shirts from OR.Simply Love it! Changed my travel experience to places where there is limited availability of washer and dryer. Hard to stain it and dries super fast.Great shirt. Wore it when I had to work out in thick vegetation with lots of thorns. My other shirts got torn apart, but this one has held up well.
